Today I’m presenting a talk at Duke University, organized by the Duke Initiatives in Theology and the Arts, “Placing Hope: Approaching the Theological Virtue of Hope in Contemporary Cinema.” Tomorrow, 26 March, I’ll present my research on film and religion with the title “The Core of Death: Vampirism and Christianity in The Addiction (1994).” Finally, on the next day, 26 March, my talk “Transcending Violence: Forgiveness and Companionship in Mass (2021),” organized by the Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School, with comments by Nina Balmaceda and Douglas Campbell.
