It’s been more than two years since the beginning of the writing, submission, and revision process of my article about the historical basis for the film The Nothing Factory (A Fábrica de Nada, 2017): “Resistance and Resilience: The Nothing Factory and the Workers’ Self-Management of Fateleva”. It was all worth it. I’m very grateful to the editors of this special issue of the International Labor and Working-Class History on “Workers and Obsolescence”, Lori Flores (Stony Brook University) and Aaron Benanav (Humboldt University of Berlin), for their encouragement — especially Lori, who worked closely with me. Thank you also to Cambridge University Press for the impeccable editorial support. The work is available here.
