The 4th NECS Graduate Workshop took place yesterday, but the NECS Lisbon Conference officially kicks off today with my and Melis Behlil’s opening remarks. The first sessions are scheduled to begin right after this introduction at 9am. You can download the complete conference programme here.
I am also introducing the first keynote speaker, who is presenting her lecture, “Experiencing Time Between Fiction and Documentary: Memory, Affect and the Digital”, today at 6pm: Professor Elizabeth Cowie (University of Kent). I have known Elizabeth for eight years. She was my MA teacher — her splendid course was called Cinema and the Subject of Representation. It will be a great pleasure (and responsibility) to introduce her.
