The scene in which Laura Palmer breaks up with James Hurley in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (1992) reappears in the third season of Twin Peaks without the intensifying music and in black and white instead of colour. Dark melodrama is turned into nocturnal, melancholic drama.
